Upcycled 90s technical performancewear meets high fashion

Marine Serre is quickly becoming a name in her native France due to her street-cred worthy-designs. Primarily a womenswear designer Serre has branched into men’s fashion, launching a capsule collection of pieces that are as innovative in terms of materials as they are eye-catching and, well, for want of a better word - cool.

Serre has quietly ascended the fashion-industry rungs, from a relatively unknown fashion graduate to the winner of the prestigious LVMH prize. She’s also the alum of Balenciaga and Margiela. (No biggie.) Therefore it’s of little surprise that the young designer is being sought after by a global list of stockists. The latest adding Marine Serre’s designs to their repertoire are SSENSE, who have just launched Serre’s first menswear capsule collection.

The online e-tailer is well-known in working with emerging designers, Serre is in good company, the site selling products from the likes of Warsaw-based brand MSBHV, London Fashion Week Men’s favourite Daniel W. Fletcher and  Central Saint Martins graduate, Wales Bonner. Serre’s debut collection features some of her already successful trademark creative flourishes from the crescent moon motif, to the use of technical fabrics.

In total 22 items are on offer ranging from tie-dye tracksuits in moiré silk fabric, through to recycled jackets madding from old bedding.
