French beauty meets New York style

French beauty company Lancôme has revealed its latest designer collaboration – partnering with the New York based fashion label, Proenza Schouler. Lancôme is no stranger to designer collaborations having previously teamed up with the likes of Alber Elbaz, Anthony Vaccarello and Sonia Rykiel. Proenza Schouler’s first foray into the beauty industry was earlier this year with the launch of its debut fragrance, Arizona.

“Lancôme has always represented the epitome of luxury beauty products so it is like a dream come true to be able to collaborate with such an iconic and historic brand,” said Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, co-founders and designers of Proenza Schouler, in a statement.

The collection, which launches in August, features striking packaging in hot pink, black, cobalt and tangerine and will include eye palettes, lip products and a cushion compact. The colour palette will comprise of sunset pinks, red and oranges for lips, while nails will be treated to subtle nude shades. The eyeshadow palettes will be a mix of rich navy and punchy jade.

“Borne by the radical approach of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, Proenza Schouler fashion is the manifesto of a strong, free femininity,” said Françoise Lehmann, general manager of Lancôme International. “The idea of ‘empowerment’ is at the heart of their values, just as it has always been at the heart of the Lancôme philosophy.”

The Lancôme x Proenza Schouler collection will be available exclusively at John Lewis from August 1.
